2. PRELIMINARY STAGE : 

- Choice of three items in two different languages from two different periods among the following:

Period 1: from 1730 to 1830
Period 2: from 1830 to 1900
Period 3: from 1900 to the present

3. SEMI-FINAL WITH ORCHESTRA :

Orchestral works :

- Choice of two items, in two different languages.

If the candidate chooses an item in French (optional) which is different from the item sung at the preliminary stage, he/she may compete for the Prize of the best performance of a work in French.

4. FINAL WITH ORCHESTRA :

Orchestral works :

- Choice of two items. One additional item to be in French if the candidate wishes to compete for the Prize of the best performance of a work in French.
